Classic Mode Overview

Classic Mode is the original Hex Defense experience, designed to introduce players to the game's core mechanics in a balanced and accessible way. This mode features a steady progression of enemy waves with adequate time between them to plan and build your defenses.

Ideal for beginners, Classic Mode provides a generous starting resource pool and balanced resource gains throughout the game. The progressive difficulty curve allows new players to learn effective tower placement, resource management, and strategic planning without feeling overwhelmed.

With 20 diverse waves of enemies, each introducing new challenges at a manageable pace, Classic Mode offers the perfect foundation to master the fundamentals of Hex Defense before taking on more challenging game modes.

Strategy Tips

Early Game (Waves 1-5)

  • Focus on building Cannon Towers at strategic junctions
  • Place at least one Frost Tower to slow down enemies
  • Don't rush upgrades - focus on coverage first

Mid Game (Waves 6-12)

  • Begin upgrading your core towers to level 2
  • Add Lightning Towers for groups of enemies
  • Save 300+ crystals for the wave 10 boss

Late Game (Waves 13-20)

  • Upgrade key towers to maximum level
  • Consider selling and repositioning some early towers
  • Use special abilities against waves 15 and 20

Recommended Tower Placement

  • Place Cannon Towers at high-traffic intersections
  • Position Frost Towers early in the enemy path
  • Cluster Lightning Towers where paths converge
